Residency Policy

A significant portion of UTK graduate students come to Tennessee from another state. Current UT policies make it extremely difficult for students who move for the purposes of pursuing a graduate education to acquire in-state residency status, which would radically reduce student fees and tuition costs (for those graduate students who are unfunded). GSS recently passed a bill that aims to make it easier for graduate students to establish in-state residency.
