The mission of the Graduate Student Senate Travel Awards is to advance the interests of UT graduate and professional students and promote the research created at UT by easing the student’s financial burden of travel.
The Graduate Student Senate Travel Award is administered by the Office of the Dean of Students in cooperation with the Graduate Student Senate (GSS) and the dean of the Graduate School. Allocations from this fund provide travel awards for University of Tennessee graduate students attending professional meetings to present original research. The awards, distributed three times a year, are made on the basis of both need and merit, and allow for partial reimbursement of transportation, lodging, and conference expenses.
Travel award requests must be filed using the current Graduate Student Senate Travel Awards application. Review the process, application, and deadline dates below.
This year, we will be accepting only online applications. If you have already started working on the printed application or cannot fill out the online application, please email the GSS Travel Awards chair at email@example.com. Applications must still include the signatures on the paper copy emailed upon completion of the application.
In order for your application to be complete, it must be received by the Dean of Students Office no later than 5 p.m. on the day of the application deadline. If you have any question about the GSS Travel Fund Application process, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Graduate students in either the College of Arts and Sciences (A&S) and the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences (EHHS) must submit their travel applications to their respective college deans at least one week in advance of the GSS deadlines listed below.
